THE BOAFO PROJECT 2006
The Boafo Project™ is a series of projects that The Kunke Foundation® undertakes annually. Basically, each of these projects has a different
theme and a set of objectives. In 2006 the first Boafo Project™ was undertaken with the primary goal of soliciting for used clothing from schools in Accra and distributing it to deprived and needy children in Mensakrom and Mansofo. The foundation started its’ quest by writing over fifteen letters to schools and two religious organizations in Accra.
Out of the over fifteen letters written response came from only two schools, St Theresa’s School and the Laterbiokorshie 4 Junior High School (JHS). To aid the foundation in determining the total number of students in the two schools and also aid in the final distribution process, an assessment sheet was designed and attached to the introductory letters that was sent to the two beneficiary schools.
The project manager Martina Korsah a JSS graduate mobilised the uniforms, bags
and used clothing from her school St. Theresa’s School (North Kaneshie, Accra). Mr. Nyarko a teacher at the Laterbiokorshie 4 JHS also played a key role in helping to spread the information around and personally saw to it that the students contributed their quota to the project.
The President of The Kunke Foundation® Michael Kunke presented a hundred used school uniforms, clothing, school bags and shoes to children from the Mansofo ADA primary school and the Mensakrom ADA School.
The Boafo Project 06™ to us at The Kunke Foundation® was a success because the smiles on the faces of the students
and the look in the eyes of the children cannot be described by words and we are eagerly looking forward to The Boafo Project 09™ and ultimately The Kunke Foundation Green Village Summer Camp®.
At The Kunke Foundation we believe in the theory of small beginning’s and we dare to dream to make a difference.
