Donation Update No. 1
The Kunke Foundation wishes to inform members of our group about the following donations and pledges:
We are very grateful to two of our members who have generously pledged donations to the Mensakrom Community Library Project: one from the United Kingdom (UK) and one from The Netherlands.
We also received our first donation of books from Kathy and George Weir of Tomorrow Stars, (http://tstars.org/aboutus.aspx): they donated eight books bought from the Kathy Knowles Library.
Kathy Knowles is the founder of the Osu Children's Library Fund and the Kathy Knowles Library (http://www.osuchildrenslibraryfund.ca/) and has been providing The Kunke Foundation with advice on the project direction. The Osu Children's Library Fund also provides free training for new librarians.
Books from the Kathy Knowles collection fall within the price range ghc2.50 - ghc5.00 and are very relevant for the education of the Ghanaian child. Donations in this direction will be heartily appreciated.
We hope the donations and support we are currently receiving will encourage all members to pitch in and help as well. We also appeal to you to invite your friends on facebook and elsewhere to join in. The success of the Mensakrom Community Project is our own success as individuals in a global village.
